In Justice

Greed, Power, Fame and Pride are just some factors that led to hurting and even to the extent of killing others.
Philippines is a country where  Roman Catholic is  the dominant religion and among the ten commandments that we lived by is "Thou shall not kill".
If we're going to look into reality, killing in our society nowadays was just as easy as performing a " not so complicated task".
I think this is an interesting agenda that the present government administration might seriously put into consideration and decidedly act upon. It was alarming when you turned on a television set and the news every night involves killings such as murder, massacre, homicide etc. Among these crimes, there are several wherein minors are involved.
It was 30th of June way back in 1991 when the Visconde Massacre happened, it became the most sensational cases in the Philippines and even called as the trial of the century. In the end the accused was set free and the one left (Lauro Visconde)  was still longing for justice for what had happened to his family.
Then, On 23rd of November way back in 2009, the entire Philippine Archipelago and even the whole world was bombarded by the news about the" Maguindanao Massacre" that killed almost 50 unarmed people in southern Philippines. Many of the victims were buried in mass grave and are brutally killed. Survivors alleged to the reporters that Andal Ampatuan Jr.,one member of the dynastic clan that has been nurtured by Ex-Pres. Arroyo's administration for almost 20 years led the gunmen. The said tragedy led ex-Arroyo administration to declare a state of emergency in the province. Some members of the Ampatuans were arrested. After all these years, why this case still remain unsolved? Are the witness not yet enough to proved that Ampatuan's are really involved in the crime?
How about the late Rogelio Mendoza controversial "Manila Hostage Crisis"? I found it humorous when I heard the news about filing a criminal case against him.Poor Rogelio! How can he rest in peace when his life after death was still going to face a criminal case. Is that the Philippine justice system can do? Punish the dead one?Does filing a case against him will alleviate the feelings of the relatives of the victim?
These are just some cases where we can found at the bottom the dysfunctional justice system. Now, let us think of those big time crooks out there freely roaming around and enjoying their lives, remember those famous name aired on television proudly displaying their stolen wealth, well-known personality and high ranking officials for their heinous graft and corrupt practices yet still manage to command and sit comfortably on their throne.
Where is the justice system? I think its already time to get rid of the fatal implications of injustice in our society.Injustice where the following prevails; stay away from untouchables, away justice with the poor, the little and the ignorant. It's time to have a " firm hammer" when it comes to punishing the guilty ones. Let the sinners suffer the consequences of their wrongdoings. This might be the first step to lessen the criminal cases that is happening in our country right now. The Philippine justice system must change or are we going to be contented with this present system that criminals just come and go.Think about it! #juliecabiles#
